Chapter 214

The media is making a fuss about "politics by criminals and psycho-path is shocking the world," but there's nothing wrong with the president and his supporter, who were elected after a long campaign and repeated discussions by the people, and they are implementing the policies. It's even more enviable than Japan's incompetent ruling and opposition party politics, which still can't solve the problems of politics and money and only does handouts. The fact that he issued a presidential order on his first day in office means that he had already been preparing for months, and I'm amazed at his administrative ability and enormous effort. It shows that the president's authority is outstanding in a country governed by law, with a separation of powers. What people all over the world want from the politics of each country can be summed up in one word: "ability to execute." They expect a president who can stop the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, and a president who can stop the inflow of products from overseas and increase sales of domestic products. President Trump has demonstrated his execution ability as expected, soon after taking office. Additionally, businessman Elon Musk, who was appointed head of DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency), announced that he would close USAID (United States Agency for International Development). While he supports humanitarian aid, he likely feels that there is too much waste in the way money is spent. I don't know whose idea it was, but I'm impressed that he was a genius in the sense that he was the right person for the job. If he had been the US Trade Representative, there would have been a conflict of interest and a lawsuit. I feel the depth of the US's generosity in embodying ideas that would be buried for plausible and meaningless reasons like "there is no precedent" or "the public doesn't understand" like in Japan. Even with the 25% tariff, the reason for the 25% is unclear, but I think it's best to skip over such small details and just go ahead and do it. In the end, it will probably end up not necessarily being in the interest of the US, but there is value in trying it out as a premise. It is important to produce results that make supporters say, "That's what I thought." Managing a company and governing a country are similar. Simply telling employees that it's no good will only make them lose motivation. If you let them try it, they will hit a wall and think, "Oh, so that's what it was," and while reflecting on it, they will correct their course and come up with the optimal solution. What is missing in the problem of Japanese politics and money is debate. Although GAFA in the United States supported the Democratic Party during the campaign, they donated huge amounts of money after the Republican president was inaugurated. What is this quick change of heart? I am astonished at their lack of conviction, and at the same time, I am impressed that, as expected of businessmen, they prioritize making money over conviction. The reason why Japanese people distrust politics is not just because the use of money is still unclear. Political ideals and beliefs are only during the election period, but what happens after the election? I feel that it's pointless if you buy a party ticket and support someone, but then don't put it into practice or can't do it. If they tried but failed, I can give up, but there is no sign of even trying. Instead of using parties as bait to raise money, why not clarify the purpose, such as "policies to support the spread of AI" or "policies to reduce medical and nursing care costs," and ask for donations from companies and individuals? I sincerely think that Japan could become a country where a criminal could become prime minister and a psycho-path could become a supporter, and the country might improve.

A piece of paper separates a genius from a Psychopath.
